What Is the Cost Per Click (CPC)?
Cost per click (CPC) is the amount an advertiser pays each time someone clicks on their online ad.
This type of advertising is common on platforms like search engines, social media, and the Google Display Network. It’s also known as pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.
CPC helps advertisers figure out how much it costs to get users to click on their ads. Advertisers bid on keywords or target specific audiences to get their ads seen in top positions.
Cost Per Click (CPC) Formula
To calculate CPC, divide the total amount spent on an ad campaign by the number of clicks the ad received.
CPC = Total advertising cost / Number of clicks
For example, if an advertiser spends $100 on a campaign and gets 50 clicks, the CPC is: CPC = $100 / 50 clicks = $2 per click
So, the CPC for this campaign would be $2.
